About the University of Delaware Figure Skating Club

The University of Delaware Figure Skating Club (UDFSC) was chartered in January 1986. The UDFSC is dedicated to supporting skaters and the sport of figure skating in association with the United States Figure Skating (USFS) and the University of Delaware's High Performance Figure SKating Center. The UDFSC boasts over 300 members and is one of the larger figure skating clubs in the United States. We typically send three dozen or more skaters to U.S. Nationals, Jr. Olympics, and Adult Nationals, and several synchronized skating teams to U.S. Synchronized Team Skating Nationals. Many recent Winter Olympics have included US competitors from UDFSC.

The UDFSC is managed by a board of directors, elected by its membership, and is governed by its By-Laws and USFS.

In addition to the activities described in this brochure, the UDFSC helps to purchase Nationals warm-ups for qualifying club members and equipment for UD's strength training room. We have sponsored qualifying and non-qualifying competitions such as 1995 South Atlantics, 1996 Eastern Precision Championship, 1999 Theatre On Ice, and the 2010 Eastern Figure Skating Championships.
